Sir Geoffrey Leigh Academy, Dartford – Murals

When The Leigh Academy in Dartford sought a fresh perspective for their house murals, Fusional was invited to develop designs for four key communal areas — each one focused on celebrating a different house identity. The brief was clear: each mural needed to position the house name as the central ‘hero’ element while creating a vibrant and welcoming space for student downtime and registration.

It was a pleasure to hear that the Principal was already familiar with Fusional’s work and keen for us to bring the same level of creativity to this project.

House names were themed around inspirational figures — David Attenborough, Marie Curie, Nelson Mandela, and Mary Seacole — with logos provided for each. We designed a series of frieze-style murals, bringing colour, identity, and purpose to the shared areas, with each mural acting as a focal point for its respective house.

The house themed murals were installed efficiently in just one working day, the murals gave students a clear sense of belonging and pride in their house communities. Additional logo areas followed in the coming weeks.

To further enhance the environment, we also created four striking vertical murals — each running the full height of the internal lift and staircase. These were installed overnight, adding another layer of visual identity to the school's interior architecture.
