The Gateway Academy – Corridor Murals

The Gateway Academy wanted to transform its curved corridor spaces into something more inspiring. With walls reaching 5 metres in height, the opportunity arose during a chance encounter with the Fusional installation team. After a quick trip across the Thames to assess the space, we began planning a series of vibrant murals to enhance the entrances to classrooms across different subject areas.

We integrated heavily stylised student photos into the designs, giving each mural a personal and relatable touch — a way for students to feel part of something bigger every time they walked past.

A second area, used by students during breaks, was also brought to life. This space was infused with the school’s colours and dynamic imagery of students engaged in learning, creating an energising atmosphere both during lessons and downtime.

The murals were met with great excitement and have since become a valued part of the school's identity, enriching both the learning environment and social spaces.
